Public Holidays

Configure public holidays that affect payroll calculations. Work performed on a public holiday triggers the Sunday/holiday premium (+100%).

Adding a Holiday

  1. Navigate to Settings > Holidays.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Fill in the fields:
FieldRequiredDescription
DateYesThe date of the holiday.
NameYesDisplay name (e.g., "Joulupaiva", "Vappu").
Country CodeNoDefaults to FI.
Repeats AnnuallyNoToggle on if the holiday falls on the same date every year.
  1. Click Save.

Annual Recurrence

Holidays marked as Repeats Annually are automatically created for future years. This is useful for fixed-date holidays like Christmas (25.12) and New Year (1.1).

Holidays with variable dates (like Easter and Midsummer) need to be added manually each year.

Payroll Impact

When an employee works on a configured public holiday:

  • Their hours for that day receive the Sunday/Public Holiday premium (+100% of base rate).
  • This premium is automatically applied during payroll calculation.
  • No manual action is required beyond configuring the holiday.

Note: Sundays are automatically treated as premium days regardless of holiday configuration. The "Sunday Note" indicator on the roster view reminds you of this.

Managing Holidays

  • Edit a holiday to correct its name or date.
  • Delete holidays that were added incorrectly.
  • Review the holiday list at the start of each year to ensure variable-date holidays are configured.
