Timesheet Rounding

By default, worked time is paid exactly as clocked. If your workplace pays to a rounded schedule instead — for example, to the nearest quarter hour, or to the planned shift times when someone clocks in a few minutes early — Vuoron can apply that rounding automatically when it calculates payable time.

All rounding is configured per tenant in Settings → Time Tracking, and requires Manager or Company Admin. The raw clock times are always kept; rounding only affects the payable minutes used for timesheets and payroll.

Layer 1 — Clock-time rounding

Choose how each worklog's payable time is derived:

ModeWhat it does
NoneNo rounding. Payable time equals the exact clocked time.
DurationRounds the total worked duration to the nearest interval.
IntervalRounds the clock-in and clock-out times to the nearest interval, then measures between them.

When Duration or Interval is selected, set the rounding interval (for example, 15 minutes). Rounding is to the nearest interval.

Layer 2 — Schedule snap

Schedule snap aligns small differences between clocking and the planned shift, so a couple of minutes early or late don't change pay. Enable schedule snap and choose which edges to snap:

  • Snap early clock-in — a clock-in shortly before the planned start is treated as starting at the planned time.
  • Snap late clock-out — a clock-out shortly after the planned end is treated as ending at the planned time.

The grace window sets how far from the planned time snapping still applies. Clocking outside the grace window is left as-is (genuine early starts or overtime are preserved, not snapped away).

Break rounding

When enabled, unpaid breaks are rounded toward a nominal break length within a tolerance, in line with collective-agreement break handling. A break close to the nominal length is treated as the nominal length; a break clearly longer or shorter than tolerance is kept as recorded.

How the layers combine

The layers apply in order: clock times (or duration) are rounded first, schedule snap aligns the edges to the planned shift, and break rounding adjusts the unpaid break. The result is the payable minutes shown on the worklog and carried into payroll. Because the raw clock data is retained, you can always see both what was clocked and what was paid.

  • Timesheets — reviewing and approving worked time.
  • Clock Events — how clock-ins and clock-outs are recorded.
